Weekend Getaway

This past weekend my hubby and I went for a weekend getaway...kinda like a "babymoon" before baby #2 arrives. We have been saying for over 2 years now that we'd do this. For every birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion we've said, "We won't buy gifts for each other, we'll just plan a weekend away." Well, we've finally taken our weekend away.....the first time leaving Camden for more than 1 night, or a few hours.

Thankfully we knew that he'd be well taken care of by his grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. (They all live close together so he was with a lot of family!) And he got to do his favorite thing all weekend long....SWIM! He's such a little fish. He asks for the "pool" every day, if not every hour. So he got lots of swimming time and Daddy and Mommy got some much needed rest.

The funny part is though, that both Renato and I realized that we were actually bored. Yes, bored! Without Camden! He's just sooo busy and takes up sooo much of our time and thoughts and lives, that it was a bit boring without him. We spent most of the weekend just talking about him and wondering what he was doing. Funny how that works. I had been dreaming of this weekend for over a month, then when we were away, all I thought about was home. Crazy!

Renato and I did have a great time though. We went to a beach town called Ubatuba. We've been there twice before, but never by ourselves. The first time we had Renato's brother with us, and the second time we took my parents and Camden. We stayed at the same little hotel as always, called a "Pousada" in portuguese. We love this little place. They have amazing breakfasts and are only about a 2 minute walk to the beach, plus the owners and workers are so friendly and fun. So we spent most of our time just sitting on the beach, not really doing anything, but just relaxing and resting. We know that it was our "last chance" to do this before Dawson arrives, so we figured it was either now, or never!

We're glad we went and had a great time.....but it was so nice to come home to our little guy that we missed so much!

Thats awesome that you and Renato were able to get away and get a much needed break before Dawson comes.

Grandma and Grandpa are here for the week, so I was showing Grandma your blog. She said she hasn't gotten a chance to look at it yet, but maybe now she will :) My Mom has a blog as well. My Grandma hasn't looked at hers either.

That is great! It is good to get away just for you two. We have been blessed to do this a couple of times and having Oma and Opa nearby. Glad you got some rest on the beach;)

I glad that you guys got some rest, even if it was "boring" without Camden...now that you are home, I am sure that you won't be "bored" for awhile, especially with the new baby coming soon. :o)

Oh Michele, it sounds like you had a wonderful time, even if it was a little boring without your little guy. :)

I can't believe you are getting so close to holding your newest in your arms!! Praying for rest and strength in these final weeks...

Blessings!
