The Nomadic Life-Continued

A couple of months ago I wrote about the life of a nomad and how we're in transition. Well, the nomadic life continues to this day. We have been so blessed by friends and family that have been very hospitable and opened up their homes to us. Since we've gotten to Brazil, we've been staying with Renato's parents. It has been such a huge blessing, but yet challenging at times. I came across this Proverb today during my reading:

Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

My heart cried out to God when I read that, "Lord, I would LOVE to build up my own house. I pray for a place to call our own.....SOON!"

The past 2 months I've really missed a place of my own. My own space. My own home. I've even envied people here who live in the tiniest of houses, because they have their own home. In the U.S., it's all about BIG houses and BIG cars and BIG everything. Here, I've been learning a lot about being content where God has me.

So I'm learning how to "build up my own house" in other ways. I'm building not a physical house right now, but a spiritual house. I'm building up a house of faith, contentment, peace, patience, and love. God is working on all of these areas in my life right now and building me up a spiritual mansion.

The hardest and most challenging of these is patience for me. I'm in the right country to learn patience. EVERYTHING here takes 3 times as long as it would in the U.S. But what I'm really missing and having a hard time being patient for is my house. So on continues the process of building up my patience while I add a "spiritual brick" to my mansion with every day I learn more about God. What a beautiful mansion it will be!!!

That's so true... just because you don't have your own physical home right now you can still work on "building" up the home that you are in. You can speak life to those you live with, serve them, pray for them, love them and let them know how much you cherish and appreciate them.

I'll be praying that you'll learn the language quicker then you would have thought possible!

Love to you, Carrie

Thank you for giving me your input on the symatics of blogging and leaving messages. Also, one of my favorite parts about Easter (besides celebrating the risen Christ) is that it is also the anniversary of Jonathan and I getting engaged. :o)

I DO understand living with other people and looking for some "space" of your own. When we first moved to Florida, we lived with five other adults (so 7 of us in all) in a four bedroom house. I will be praying that God continues to relieve Himself to you while you are in this season and that your house is shown to you in His perfect timing.

Take Care!!!!
